Passionate Romans

Considered an aphrodisiac, the Romans’ passion for this food source was such that they were exported as far as Rome. Some Romans were reputed to believe that the Oyster was the only good thing to come from our shores.

Ideal Environment

The warm sea temperature and an abundance of nourishment from the marshland surrounding the Oyster beds in Tollesbury, Salcott and Little Ditch creeks make the ideal environment for the Oysters to fatten.
